The mighty Symphony No. 1 by Mahler, the “Titan” Symphony, evokes both the passion of humanity and power of nature. Kevin Lau’s “Sea of Blossoms,” also inspired by the vastness of nature, contrasts this with nature’s delicacy. Through selections from Mozart, Puccini, Delibes and Lehar, soprano Christina Haldane perfectly captures the range of human passion, from unbridled joy to playfulness to heartfelt longing and sorrow. This will be a deeply moving concert!
